What better motivation
to push you through the 42.195 km than running for a good cause?
In addition to all the fun you'll be having, the health improvement,
and the ultimate sporting experience, you can choose to help out
a charity organization just by running the Beirut International
Marathon! How?
One of the main
objectives of the BMA is to mobilize funds (through events such
as the Beirut International Marathon) for humanitarian and human
development projects. We are delighted to announce that the BMA
will be assisted by the
United Nations
Development Program (UNDP) to handle the humanitarian
component which is not only the core of the UNDP’s mandate, but
is also in line with the UNDP’s strategy of partnership for
common development interests.
UNDP and the BMA
have agreed upon a joint action which will be undertaken to
promote and support, within the theme of ‘Youth and the
Community’, selected projects endorsed by the BMA. Funds raised
either through individual sponsorship or event fund raising will
be earmarked for use within such selected projects as:

The
United Nations
Development Program (UNDP) is the UN’s global development
network, on the ground in 166 countries, advocating for change
and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources
to help people build a better life. UNDP also supports and
coordinates the collaborative action of the UN System in the
country and as such mobilizes the UN System in the country. You
can visit their website
here.
Here’s how YOU can help raise funds for a good cause!
Decide on running
for charity
Pick up your
sponsorship form
from the BMA offices or from the BMA Official Charities. You can
also download it here.
Choose the charity you would
like to support – or choose to help the entire program.
Ask your friends,
co-workers, and family to sponsor you for taking part in the
marathon. For example, you may ask your brother to sponsor you
for $5, or your colleague might sponsor you for $20. Or you can
choose any figure and include it on the sponsorship form.
Make sure to write down all
of these sponsorships on the BMA
pledge form. Sponsors must sign next to their names and donated amounts.
Please collect the money
in advance, i.e. before the marathon.
You can submit your form
and raised funds at the BMA office any time before the marathon.
Or, you can submit these at the designated stand at the Marathon
Village.
On Race Day, run!
Charities raise funds thanks
to you!
